"Neither have I," Barbossa said.

Xiao Feng raised his hand to caress the rope pendant hanging around his neck.

"The last convention, my dad told me, it ended badly."

"But a council before that made the code," Barbossa pointed out. "It is good for all of us, and it was the first council that gave us as much regulation as the sea gave us, didn't it?"

Barbossa refers to the ancient legend of Calypso, the goddess of the sea.

The First Brotherhood consisted of nine pirate kings who captured Calypso and bound her in human form.

Since she can no longer unleash storms to destroy the pirates, the pirates have supreme control over the sea.

This is a turning point for all the pirates in the world, and Calypso's entrapment means that they, too, can become kings of the sea.

Barbosa's tone became more and more serious: "And now, the rules are being challenged."

"East India Trading Company." Sao Feng gritted his teeth and said.

He too had seen the devastation wrought by the men of the company, he had heard of mass hangings, and had lost brothers in their horrific massacres.

He knew that the pirates were in great danger not only of their lives, but of their dominance of the seas—forever.

"Lord Cutler Beckett is a plague to all of us," said Barbossa, nodding.

Chapter 278 Pirate King's token!

Xiao Feng began to pace back and forth: "It's true that he is offering a bounty on our heads."

"It seems like the only way a pirate can make a profit is by betraying other pirates," he said.

He gave Will a meaningful look, then turned to Barbossa and said, "But pirates are either captains or crew members, and nine captains are arguing to mark a route because eight of them are redundant."

He shook his head. "What good is the Brotherhood against the East India Company? What can any of us do?"

Elizabeth couldn't keep silent anymore, she cried out: "You can fight."

Everyone turned to stare at her, and her frustration exploded.

What happened to these pirates?

Can't they see what's being discovered outside?

Don't they even believe in the Code of Pirates?

Don't they want to take back the sea? !

That is their sea! !

"You are Sao Feng, the Pirate King of Singapore." She stepped forward and said boldly: "You ruled the age of piracy, an age where fearless captains could not use feet but only increasing fear. The measure of the freedom of the seas, the stormy seas, and those who stand the test become legends."

A tall pirate with a dragon tattoo tried to pull her back, but she shook off him and drew closer to Sao Feng.

She went on, in a passionate voice, "Would he like to see this era end?"

Xiao Feng stared at her indifferently.

"And now you," Elizabeth went on contemptuously, "your ships are crowding the harbor, your cables are rotting, and you cower in your bathwater!"

The Pirate King's eyebrows twitched, and Elizabeth fell silent.

Is she going too far?She held her breath.

Xiao Feng circled her slowly, looking at her like a wild beast observing an interesting place on its prey.

"Elizabeth Swan," he said, "you don't look that simple, and I wouldn't be fooled."

He gave her a charming smile, and Elizabeth herself was shocked to find that she had returned a smile.

Sao Feng turned to Barbosa again: "But I still can't help but notice that you haven't answered my question yet."

If the talk about the fraternity and Elizabeth's call to battle were to distract Sao Feng, then it fell short.

He pressed again: "What do you want to find in Davy Jones' underwater grave?"

"Jack Sparrow." A voice came from across the room.

Will Turner shook the wet hair off his face and stood up straight.

When he looked directly at this pirate king, his gaze was calm and fearless.

Xiao Feng was stunned, the surroundings were silent, and Barbossa looked pained.

"He's one of the Pirate Kings," Will said.

One of Sao Feng's maids named Parker giggled, but when Sao Feng glared at her, she immediately stopped smiling.

Another maid, Lily, seemed to be hiding a smile too. Both of them undoubtedly had encounters with the legendary Jack Sparrow.

Both Will and Elizabeth noticed how angry Sao Feng was when he heard the name Jack Sparrow.

A vein throbbed under his temple, and he tried to keep his voice calm.

The Pirate King said through gritted teeth, "The only reason I want Jack Sparrow back from the land of the dead is so that I can send him back myself."

Barbossa rolled his eyes, staring at Will.

"That's exactly why we prefer not to have his name mentioned," he said flatly.

"So you admit that you lied to me." Xiao Feng said.

His eyes scanned the room, and suddenly he noticed something suspicious.

In the heat of the steam, the dragon sashimi on one of his men began to melt.

It turned out to be a fake tattoo!
